WP4: Floater Specifications, Integrated Modelling and Global Performance.

This WP will perform the integrated modelling of the mooring, anchoring and power cable systems developed in WP2 and WP3 to simúlate the global performance with a novel hybrid concrete/plastic floater design. The integral system pursues to reduce the overall costs and alleviate the load son the mooring lines, anchors and dynamic power cable.

WP leader: INNOSEA.

The objectives are:

  • Determine the hybrid concrete/plastic floating structure general requirements and design basis for 10+MW wind turbine.
  • Develop the tailored engineering naval architecture and structural design of the floater.
  • Simulate an integral model of the floater and its associated innovative solution (mooring and dynamic cables system).
  • Implement a feasibility and economic study of moooring and anchoring solutions for floating substation based on global performance (loads reductions and cost-efficiency).
