Future Fibres is a Southern Spars brand, the world’s largest carbon spar maker and part of the North Sails group, the world’s leading sail maker.The group is owned by UK based investment fund Oakley Capital.

Future Fibres started building composite rigging for sailing boats in late 90´s. Merged with its main competitor Southern Spars in 2014 reaching the most complete composite rigging catalogue in the world. Future Fibres designed and manufactured composite rigging for the most famous sailing race over the last 20 years working with main part of the market and the most prestigious regattas: America’s Cup, Olympic Games, Volvo Ocean Race (Whitbreat), Vendee Globe, Barcelona World Race, Route Du Rhum, the Fastnet, TheTransat, Super-maxis, IRC72, TP52, Sydney-Hobart, All SuperYacht Regattas, Etc…

Today we are the leading supplier of carbon mast, cable and rigging to the sailing yacht industry. The company’s global operations employ over 650 staff in which are included architects, engineers, product designers and sportsmen who work alongside each other to improve our mastery in carbon fibre´s products every day. A mix of experienced engineers and a trusted supply base has drawn the attention of many industries outside of yachting, and have already seen them used in motorsport, civil engineering, architecture, aerospace or defense among others. We produce the most durable and strongest composite cables available, perfectly balancing both safety and performance. We are based along the world; this fact makes possible to attend our client’s needs along the 24 hours a day.

FF R&D team are located within 5,000m2 Valencia Development facility and maintain the technology advantage at the forefront for all demanding cable-based applications. The build process ensures that every cable is tested to prove it meets the design specification. All Future Fibres & Southern Spars manufacturing facilities are controlled by the Total Quality Management Processes. Quality assurance documentation and control checkpoints are used to ensure compliance with the Design Department drawings and specifications.
