First Annual Project Meeting

First Annual Project Meeting

The General Assembly and Steering Committee Meetings were held last 19th and 20th of May respectively. On this occasion by videoconference due to the travel restrictions.This pandemic has not been able to constraint the development of the FLOTANT project and the progress done during this first year puts us in a relevant position in order to achieve our objectives.

FLOTANT partners shared their work on the selection and modelling of the new platform design; the mooring system and layout; the dynamic cables composition and their dynamic behavior; the new O&M strategies for Floating Offshore Wind; and techno-economic, environmental and socio-economic impact assessment.

The most relevant innovations are approaching the crucial and final developments stage, to later start the validation phase where differents laboratories, tests sites and other testing facilities will demonstrate how FLOTANT will be able to open the Offshore Wind Industry to a inexhautible and mostly not yet expoited energy reservoir.
